Timothy J. O’Connell 65, of Cranston, passed away at Rhode Island Hospital on February 18, 2025 after a short illness. Born on March 7, 1959, he was the son of the late James P. and Angela (Mercurio) O’Connell. He was the proud father of his beloved son, Timothy O’Connell Jr. and his wife Alexis. He was predeceased by Julie Gold, mother of Timothy J. O’Connell, Jr. He also leaves his sister Donna Durigan and her husband Chris, nieces and nephews, Katie (Joe), Meagan, Chris (Laura), David (Cristen), and great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James O’Connell III. Tim was a lifelong resident of Cranston and worked at Coca Cola for a number of years, The Providence Civic Center, and part time at Precision Collision. He was an avid Harley Davidson, NASCAR, and sports fan, especially hockey and football. Tim, also known as “TO,” will be missed by many people besides his immediate family, including his cousin and best friend Jack, his sister-in-law Karen Proffit (Chris), brother-in laws, Tom (Lori), Michael (Jill) and father-in-law, Lewis Stewart Jr. and his late wife Barbara. He also leaves his aunts, uncle, and many cousins. Tim will be remembered for his big heart and for always being willing to help others. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 29, 2025 at 11:00am in St. Joseph Church 854 Providence Street West Warwick. Visitation will be held on Friday March 28, 2025 from 5:00-7:00-pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston.
