The Mass of Christian Burial for David Taft can now be confirmed. It will take place on Thursday January 21, 2021 at 10:00am in St. Joseph Church 854 Providence Street West Warwick, RI 02893. Burial will be private.
David W. Taft, age 82, died peacefully on December 16, 2020 at Kent County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Donna E. (Sandberg) Taft. The son of the late Honorable James L. and Katherine (McGrath) Taft, he was a lifelong resident of Cranston which he served proudly in many capacities over the years. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy and Providence College. He was the brother of Eleanor T. McSally of South Kingstown and the late James L. Taft Jr., Father Robert F. Taft S.J., and Katherine T. Taft. David is survived by his children Michaela (Taft) Doubrava and her husband Ed of South Jordan, Utah, David Taft and his wife Molly of Fair Haven, New Jersey, and Kristen Taft Chase of Cranston. He was the proud grandfather of Kyle Doubrava, Madeline Chase, Bailey Taft, Corey Doubrava, Hannah Chase, Carter Taft, Brett Doubrava and Reilly Taft. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in West Warwick. Funeral arrangements will be private. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to St. Joseph Church, 854 Providence Street in West Warwick, RI 02893.
