Farrell, Verna J., 90, of Cranston, passed away December 30th at home with her family. Born in Boston and a graduate of St. Xavier’s Academy in Providence, she was the daughter of Emilio and Assunta “Susan” (Antonucci) Ceruolo, both of whom she cared for in illness, in Emilio’s case an illness lasting more than three decades. For sixty-five years she was the beloved wife of the late Leo C. Farrell to care for whom she retired from her long career as a legal secretary in 2019. She was the devoted mother of John C. Farrell of Claremont, California and Edward J. Farrell of New York City. The brief years of Verna’s retirement were among her most fulfilling, with more time for gardening, reading (especially the novels of Charles Dickens), spending time with family and friends, and doing jigsaw-puzzles of favorite scenes from her travels in Italy, England, and France.
