Obituary

Vincent Francis Kane  

March 25, 1937 - September 11,2023

Vincent F. Kane 86, of Providence passed away Tuesday September 11, 2023 at South County Hospital of natural causes surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Vincent Benedict Kane of Providence, and the late Delia Kane (Walsh) of Shrule, County Mayo, Ireland. He was the brother of the late Joan M. Ahlers of Ohio and survived by his sister Mary M. Neil of Warwick. Vincent was the loving husband to Patricia R. Kane (McHugh) for 55 years. Vincent attended St. Michael’s School and graduated from LaSalle Academy, Providence College, and Suffolk University where he earned his law degree which he practiced for over 50 years. Besides practicing law, he was also an Arbitrating Judge and a Bail Commissioner for the city and state. Vincent was a passionate Patriots fan, a talented bowler, but most importantly, loved his grandchildren more than anything in this world.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son Brian S. Kane and his wife Janice L. Kane, his daughter Mary Ellen Benedict and her husband Noah Benedict. Vincent also is survived by 6 grand children; Brian Kane Jr., Joshua Kane, Brittney Bartis, Grace Benedict, Elizabeth Benedict, and Norah Benedict. He is also survived by 2 great grand children; Alexion Bartis and Brooklynn Vaccaro.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday September 15th from 5:00-7:00pm in The Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston.

Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday September 16th at 10:00am in St. Mark Church 9 Garden Court Cranston. Interment will be private. All those who are attending the funeral, please report directly to church in the morning.
