Winifred M. (Allen) Newman

Winifred A. Newman 92, of Johnston, formerly of Cranston passed away peacefully after a short illness on October 14, 2023.  She was the wife of the late William E. Newman.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph J. Allen and Mary (Bowen) Allen, sister of the late Joseph J. Allen, Jr. and sister-in-law of the late Norma Allen. She graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1949.  Before retiring, she worked at the former Monet Jewelry Company.  She lived in Cranston for many years before moving to Anchor Bay at Pocasset in 2021.   She is survived by her nephew, Michael Allen, her niece, Susan Gainor (Richard), her great nephews, Corey Allen and Joseph Gainor and her great niece, Kristen Gainor.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday October 19, 2023 at 10:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston.  Burial will be private.
